SBS 2008 – Manufacturing

 Client Profile:

• Mustang, Oklahoma manufacturing operation with 1 office
• Corporate office contains approximately 15 users
• No existing Wide Area Network (WAN), minimal security in place

Project Objectives:  

• DVITS to evaluate existing server and workstation infrastructure and recommend migration to up-to-date technology 
• Existing Exchange installation was potentially being corrupted due to minimal available disk space on old server
• File/print services were operational
• Network was marginally responsive due to old server hardware running Small Business Server 2003...lack of disk space was creating serious memory and pagefile issues

Project Results: 

• DVITS recommended migration to Windows 2008 Small Business Server on new 64-bit hardware
• Overall migration plan submitted to client to include use of Exchange 2007, Sharepoint Services, and DAS disk-to-disk backup, integrated Trend Micro Worry-Free Business Security
• DVITS provided migration design
• Business was moved to the new server over a weekend
• E-mail and file/print services were fully operational and were highly responsive
